We are different…

Who we are…

If you’ve looked us up, it’s likely that you have been recommended to us by a trusted contact. Virtually all of our work comes from recommendations from existing clients and professional contacts.

What we do is based on building long-standing business relationships with our clients. We are different to most other firms of accountants in that we really do get to know you and your business so that we can provide the type and quality of support that’s truly required. We offer our clients a single point of contact for the provision of virtually all of our services, which is something that most businesses consider highly important in a professional relationship.

We only work with individuals and businesses that are a good fit with the way we think accountancy, tax and business advisory services should be provided. To that end each of our team deals with only a manageable number of client relationships. As a result you will always be able to get hold of us and we will be able to help with you needs swiftly. We don’t process thousands of individual tax returns, or payrolls, as that’s not our business model, which means for example that we aren’t rushed off our feet in January and there won’t be a last minute rush to deal with your tax affairs.

Our core aim is to help clients build a successful business, increase their profits and reduce their tax liabilities, whilst giving them peace of mind that they are complying in full with ever increasing business laws and regulation.

The team…

The practice is led by partners Paul King and Neil Morley along with senior consultant, Robin Platt, an expert in horse racing and bloodstock. Together they lead a team of ten excellent, professional and friendly staff who all have in common a passion for technical excellence and to do the very best for their clients.

Our team have experience in larger national/international organisations and have strong technical backgrounds. Our clients benefit from direct access to a niche, dedicated team that provides first class advice. For many people just having a friendly face that can give sound advice on the problems that beset a company proves invaluable. We have expanded by building a reputation for truly looking after our clients and going beyond expectations.

Our clients range in size from those that turnover £30k to those that turnover nearly £30m… and we have helped many of those who have grown from a new start-up. Most of our clients are UK companies based in the South-west, but we also deal with clients in London, the North and more complex, international groups based in France and Italy.

What we strive for…

The typical experience of clients who have moved to us from other firms of accountants seemed to be that all they got was a set of accounts (which they only partially understood or read), a bill…and little else.

Where Paul has taken over the direction of the business over the last 10 years, the aim has been to build a team of people who could deliver a suite of services to our clients in the same fashion and with the same quality as we would demand if we were the end client.

We are constantly looking for (and finding) situations where we are able to add real value in a way that our competitors don’t. Our people love what they do and how, together, they are able make a difference to their clients.

Why?

Because we love what we do, we are really good at it and we get a kick out of happy and successful clients.

Our History…

The firm was established in 1987 by Neil Morley and has specialised in advising small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses and their proprietors throughout that time. Paul King joined the firm as a trainee in 1997, became a partner in 2007 and managing partner in 2011. During that time the firm has added further excellent team members and continued to build long-lasting and strong relationships with its clients.

Whilst our web-site contains a brief summary of what we are all about, there is no substitute for meeting face to face. Our client relationships are based upon delivering an expert, professional service, in person. Contact us today and arrange a free, no obligation meeting to discuss how we can assist you.
